About the Trustee

Student Complaint Trustee Decisions

A student may file a claim against an institution if they believe they were misled regarding a significant aspect of the approved program in which they were enrolled. Information about filing a claim may be found here.

The Trustee adjudicates student tuition refund claims to determine whether a refund should be issued and if so, the amount. The Trustee provides written reasons to the student and the institution.

The Trustee position is currently held by Joanna White, Assistant Deputy Minister, Labour Market Development Division of the Ministry of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills. The Trustee is delegated by the Minister of Post-Secondary Education and Future Skills. For more information, please refer to the Private Training Act Policy Manual s. 9.2.
